Even at 240 grooves per inch, apparently it can be done. This is the first test. The disc still needs some milling but the fidelity is good...

Just 240 grooves per inch. I thought the Edison LP's were 450 per inch. Regular DD's 150.

Yes, for a record molded from a record made from acoustical dubbings, it does sound quite decent, apart from the skips.

Sounds pretty good. I’m sure the final product will be great.

Great pioneer work on those LPs! And it show that you don't need a Long Play Edison phonograph to play them. Was the original record mint or used? Marc.

I stand corrected, the Edison LP is 450LPI.

Marc, that side of the original disc is very clean. The skips are due to the copy needing to be milled and the cartridge on my turntable only being able to handle a few grams tracking force... the stylus surely isn't a great fit either (.7mil spherical, Ortofon).
