Oh my...it's a frankenphone! Somebodys put an EMG horn on a HMV lol.
I quite like it actually. I like your use of colour for the sound coming from the horn especially.
And the best part is it's not yet another lame craigslist/ebay ad thread whining about price, condition or spelling :)
Well done.

Haha Shane, when I sat down to draw it (from memory) a frankenphone was the only thing I could think of!

If you were to have said that it was a photo of a painting from thus and so museum, I'd have believed it. That's the very sort of impressionist style representation I'd expect to see in a contemporary painting. I see it more as a tribute to the jazz greats than as a painting of a gramophone.

It's certainly as good/creative as any of these:

Yes, I've had quite enough of those.
Done, played, overcooked.

The paintings are lovely, all four of them posted as of this time.

First thought was Edvard Munch ;) for the very few that have never heard of him (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edvard_Munch & http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/i ... nch&sz=all )

Not bad :D

The good news is that no one compels one to click on that thread!
