Hello all,
I recently bought a Brunswick Model T with the double Ultona soundbox. It runs good and sounds nice playing lateral discs, as well as diamond discs!
I had tried to do some research on it before buying it, but did not find out much about the particular model. I do know now, due to adjusting the governor, that it seems to have a three spring motor with a cover over most of the mechanism.

I would like know is how common or uncommon this model is, and if it came in any other configuration other than console. Also, does the model designate the motor used, or the entire phonograph?
Also, it is missing the grille cloth and I was curious as to what color the original would have been?

Membership is by calendar year, and includes online access to a searchable archive of over 30,000 pages of documents dating from 1890 to the present (including all back issues of the APS journal). In addition, members receive hard-copies of the current year's journals, which are typically 52 pages (December 2019 is 60!) of full-color articles, ads for goods/services within our hobby, and upcoming auctions.

This reminds me that it's re-up time, and I need to do so!

Can't speak for the common or rare aspect of this model, except that I have one as well, and that looks about identical to yours. Part of me feels like it might not have had grill cloth, since the oval wood horn is dark finished like the rest of the cabinet. Any Brunswick I've seen from this era *did* have grill cloth, so I'd be interested to hear what others have to say.

Kirkwood, thank you for responding. It is good to hear from a fellow Model T owner. I took a closer look, just now, at the back of the grille and there does seem to be a few small fragments of a brown material that was once in place. It does almost seem like there never was a cloth, considering the finish on the horn.
Also, what era would this machine date to? If I had to guess, I would say the mid-1920s.

Congrats for the nice beauty you have! It looks impressive. I've read here that these big Brunswick wooden horns deliver an incredible sound. I especially like the nice old green velvet turntable, it looks inviting...

Inigo, thank you! It is an impressive machine all around! It it sounds very clear, too!

I would put it a few years earlier, maybe 1920 - 1923 or so. By the mid 20s, they were moving on to the Panatrope models.
