RCA Victor 66E Demonstrator Phonograph

I realize that this phonograph is a little more "modern" than what we discuss here, but I picked this up today.
This is an RCA Victor 66E Demonstrator phonograph. I know absolutely nothing about these, but I gather that these were not intended for sale, and were for in-store demonstration purposes. It looks to me like the turntable and motor were changed, and plywood cut to accommodate a smaller turntable, perhaps from a portable. I assume that the surrounding metal bed, tonearm, and the electronic stuff underneath are original. Please correct me if I am wrong - like I say, I know nothing.
The back door is missing, (assume that there was a back door). The grill cloth looks original with a relatively small area that is beginning to fray - not sure how to stabilize this.
Does anyone know if the turntable and motor were used on other models, or specific to the Demonstrator? I'd like to find a replacement. Oh boy, yet another project that I'll never get to!
The price I paid was worth it for the cabinet alone, and it's a neat machine.
