The torsion spring that controls the ratchet that prevents the winding crank from turning backward after winding has broken. Any idea where I can get a replacement or where I can have one made?

I'm sure you could get just a replacement spring from any of the usual parts suppliers, but it's probably easier to just replace the whole bracket assembly. Edison DD parts are plentiful and cheap.

Thanks for your response. I've contacted my three go-to parts sources looking for the spring without luck. Any supplier suggestions would be appreciated. This H-19 is apparently somewhat different from the others I have seen. I may have to have a spring made for this one. The replacement I need should have 8 or 9 coils (not sure due to the condition of the one I have in hand), should have an inside diameter of .4375", a wire thickness of (approx.) .0625" and a body length of (approx.) .4375". hoping to find this replacement rather then an entire assembly if possible.

I made a spring from 14 gauge music wire and used a shaft from a victor player as my mandrel. All good. Just need to adjust the governor and i'm good to go.
