Can anyone tell me the length of the Amberola 30 horn suspension spring? I am sure I can find one at the hardware store, but I would like to avoid buying several for a trial and error approach.
Thanks!

You need something about 2 ½" to 2 ⅝" with an outside diameter of ¼" to work. It won't be super precise.
The old spring is really more "springy" than some of the ones I see at hardware stores. If you have a really stiff spring maybe try a 2 ¾" one.
I find hardware store people don't mind seeing an old phonograph now and then so you might even be able to bring your machine in to test-fit. One thing about that spring is that one end is at an angle to the other...you'll have to fit it with pliers.
Don't forget the bit of tubing to put over the metal piece on the horn! Exhibition gasketing works OK.

You're welcome--long as you got a spring that will work. The Amberola 30 is one of my favorite kinds of phonograph and I really get a lot of mileage out of mine when it's not on the top of the bookshelf.
