The Talking Machine Forum — For All Antique Phonographs & Recordings

My name is Peter and I just registered here.
My mother tongue is German and I can only speak English by learning by use. Google also helps. Sorry if it is wrong.

I took a few phonographs home when I was traveling 40 years ago. Meanwhile, I want to complete or sell them. I hope that this forum will answer a few questions.

The first device here is unknown to me. 'The Phonograph' is on the decal. Feed Screw, Reproducer and Horn are missing.
- Can any of you explain to me what kind of model it is?
- Is this the correct lid? It is not oak like the lower case.
- Does anyone have a picture of feed screw, pickup and horn?

Hello Peter, and welcome to the forum!

You machine appears to be an Excelsior, manufactured for the English-speaking market. I don't believe the lid is original to that machine.

You might receive a far more authoritative response by posting this in the "British and European Machines" section of this forum.

George is right... the red striping on the bedplate is typical of a German Excelsior machine...
