This is an Amberola 50 right?

I believe this machine is an Amberola VIII which would have been a bit earlier and before the factory fire of 1914. This machine had a taller more shapely lid and used a Standard/Fireside motor with the diamond model b reproducer. It appears to have the original metal upper grill in front of the motor frame and the original front metal grill. After the Edison factory fire of 1914, many of the left over undamaged parts and pieces were put together and pushed out the door. The Amberola 30 and 50 soon showed up on the market as the new models which lasted for quite some time.

CP is correct, it is an VIII. They are very different looking from the other Amberola's and are not very common but they do come up from time to time. Price seems to be about it's money if the condition is good IMHO.

It doesn't cost anything to low ball an offer. you will either be successful or not.

I wouldn't describe them as "rare", just one of the less commonly found models. I saw one in an antiques mall in Wisconsin last week.
