Blast from the past 1909 sears catalog prices

I found an old Sears catalog and was surprised at some of the prices... You could buy a carriage cheaper than a phonograph. Guns were ordered by mail and at the time did not have a serial number on them, washing machines were just coming out, and a phonograph cost as much as a organ. Sorry about the copies my printer was acting up and I could not press down on the book. Tom

Just to put things in perspective a bit, the inflation conversion factor for 1910 is around 24.6 (call it 25 for simplicity), so that $25 graphophone would cost the equivalent of about $625 in today's money.

Very cool! I'm amazed at how detailed they made stuff back then. Our modern Ikea/walmart stuff is so boring (not that it will be around in 100 years anyway though).
