Model K Reproducer

Looking to add a Model K reproducer to my collection. I’ve got a black GEM with a C and my red GEM has an H. I’m really interested in having a K and learning how they work. The going rate on eBay seems about 300$ - is this a reasonable price? Thanks for your feedback!

I'd suggest you place a "Wanted" ad in our Forum's Trader Section. I'll bet you can get one for less than $300. Be sure to follow the guidelines.

Jerry's advice is good - - I've seen K Reproducers offered in the "Yankee Trader" section of this forum.

Your Model D Gem was originally equipped with a K, and once rebuilt and adjusted, they can play very well. Here's a picture of the business end of one, as shown in an article on the Antique Phonograph Society's web site ("Encountering Antique Phonographs"). As you can see, a simple swivel arrangement allows the 2-minute stylus (top) to be rotated into playing position, currently occupied by the 4-minute stylus (bottom).

Thank you! I followed your advice and posted. I really love my maroon GEM. It’s assembled from parts from different sources and is pretty beat up but it runs well. Just got an original fireside crane and horn and now just need the K reproducer. So cool!
