Just took out my only LAMBERT cylinder to play for a friend on my restore Lambertphone and this happened. UGH!!! The cylinder is or should I say was #5215 SUNNY JIM WHITLOCK. Can anyone kindly sell me a Lambert cylinder to replace this. I guess this cylinder has exceeded its lifetime guarantee?

Interesting. I've never seen a Lambert cylinder (ebony or pink) with an internal metal supporting ring on the end as this one appears to have. The cylinder in the picture looks just like an Albany Indestructible cylinder (all of which used the internal metal rings on the ends). Anyway, sorry to see that this happened. I don't have any Lamberts available to sell but hopefully someone else here will be able to help. I've seen lots of Edison Blue Amberol cylinders that have split and U-S Everlasting (and Lakeside) cylinders that have split but have never seen a Lambert cylinder split.

Hi Doug
This cylinder does not have a metal ring inside. I assume it is a Lambert because of the box and markings on the edge.
Thanks for your reply.

I used to joke with my customers that every part I installed at my shop had a lifetime guarantee- and when it breaks, its lifetime is over.
But seriously- this seems to be a symptom of old age with these- I seem to recall someone else posted an "Indestructable" recently that had also cracked like this.

Yeah, they never accounted for the shrinking of the celluloid around the firm core.
Are you wanting a replacement of the exact song or just any other Lambert record?
