Hi just picked up a new birtch brothers phonograph anyone have a.ny info on this brand

Birch portables are generally cheaply made from generic parts such as pot metal tonearms and cardboard horns stapled together. There are a number of different Birch models. I have a Birch model 63. Performance is only so-so, nowhere near the quality of say an HMV 102.

Depending on condition, I've seen them for sale for $35 to $75.

I classify it as a second-rate machine, not prized by most collectors. I bought mine mainly out of curiosity, plus it was very cheap.
