Last year at the ARSC conference I had the opportunity to share with David Seubert (Curator, Performing Arts Collection) the work I've been doing with copying discs. We discussed it over the following months and I was loaned 9 discs picked by myself, with the help of a few members of this forum. Physical copies will be available at my usual price but I wanted to also make available these transfers I made. The discs were all in beautiful condition (dealer stock) and sound great, even as direct transfers. These are really great songs and have been uploaded in their full 96k, 32 bit glory. Take a look and feel free to download a copy for yourself.

Many thanks, Donniej... They sound really beautiful. I'm tempted to convert to Edison products each time I listen to one of these marvels... I'm a collector of standard 78s plus some dozens of Pathé records (also found in Spain, where we had our own factory during 1915-1930). I only have two or three Edison DDs, which I bought as a curiosity. No cylinders, though... I've never seen a single one at the flea markets nor the antique shops I use to go... Though I know a place where they have cylinder phonographs for sale... Maybe one day, if I manage to substantially reduce my collection of 78s and gramophones, wife will allow me to buy a good phonograph or a DD machine...

Thanks very much Don. I'm sure to play them all on my computer and mp3 player. The quality of your recordings is outstanding.

Don, thanks for these sound files of some great DDs! I wonder who that scat singer is on the Sizzlers record? Marc.
