Happy Friday everyone! Hey - I know some are already aware but I wanted to briefly toss my this information back out in front of everybody. My book was published back in 2018 and is, to this date, one of the only really in depth books published about an off brand phonograph; the Granby! I must confess, it is about as detailed as it gets. If you're interested in corporate history or phonographs in general, you'll find it an interesting read! It has plenty of illustrations, references to Talking Machine World advertising, and things happening in the late teens and 1920's.

Trust me - if you're like me and you love this time era and the things happening with obscure smaller phonograph companies, you may want to add this to your library.

Yes, the title is long, I know, LOL. When getting ready to publish I thought of calling it the history of the Granby Phonograph. I told my wife for months it was going to be called 'Granby Book'

On a related note, I hope to attend some shows and circulate eventually. In the meantime, if anybody sees Granby Phonograph memorabilia (needle tins, signs, catalogs), let me know. I am running out room for large phonographs but am still looking for certain models....

Wow, that's awesome!

I wrote a book once but it was fiction so no research: can't imagine the amount of work that went into writing & editing your definitive history of the Granby Phonograph. I hope you can find plenty of these wonderful machines to put in your collection!

My apologies! I stepped away from the computer for a little rest and relaxation this weekend (meaning very little cell phone and technology access, LOL). If anybody has some interest, autographed or otherwise - shoot me a PM here on the forum. I have a few copies right here in my office!!! Thanks!! - Chris

I received my copy of your book today and find it fascinating and quite well done. Congratulations. A true work of love that took years. I hope your local History Museum or Historical Society has copies of this book. It would be a great addition to their collections.

The Granby Phonograph company is only one of many other from cities across the USA in the 1920s. I live in Oregon and Portland had a couple of furniture stores that made their own phonographs along the lines of the Granby's. But, there is virtually nothing known about them. I wish a book like this one existed for our area.

Thanks for taking the time to write the book. It is a great historical document.

I am very appreciative of your comments. This book started as a simple "project" for me many years ago and turned into a true labor of love. Now, I have grown quite sentimental in my quest looking for Granby memorabilia. Actually, I have been invited to speak at a few local historical societies in Southeastern VA and the attendees are quite surprised when I show pictures on the "big screen" of what was going on right in their back yard in the early 1920's. This story was almost lost to time.... I had to do some real "digging".... And, then I had to piece it all together and tell it in a way that made "some" sense... LOL.

Again, thank you for your interest and kind words. - Chris
