Hello! I was recently given an Emerson model 20 phonograph. It seems complete except missing the crank handle. Does anyone happen to have one laying around lol? Or, maybe know of one that would fit. Thanks!

Many of us have a stash of miscellanies cranks and we have no idea why they go to. We'd love to help you but you've got to give us something to work with. I've collected nearly fifty years and I have no real idea what an Emerson Model 20 looks like. What we need:

What does the end of the winding shaft on the motor look like? Does it have female threads? male threads? perhaps slotted? Can you determine the thread size? bolt size if female thread?

How far is it from the end of the winding shaft to the outside of the case?

How about a photo of your machine and a photo of the motor?

Most Emerson's just used a generic heinemann supplier motor, they're rather easy to run across, you'll just have to do some searching.

Generally, Heinemann motors have a male threaded (outie) winding shaft and a female threaded (innie) crank. It would be nice if the OP would acknowledge that, along with the length the crank has to be to clear the case... Jerry already made those suggestions and there hasn't been any reply...

I for one do not know what and Emerson Model 20 looks like, or what its parts should look like. However, there were many portables that used parts made by other companies and assembled. Many of us may have the crank you need but we just need some visual or measurement references (preferably both).
