Help Identify This Victor External

Post by Energ15 »

I've had this Victor external horn machine sitting around in my closet for sometime and after all the research on Victor external models, I still can't identify it. I couldn't take a picture of it but it looks very similar to this:

The only difference is the round black ring used to connect the tone arm and the horn elbow is longer so it looks like a pipe instead of the thin ring. If you've seen one of these before, can you give me a picture and the model name? I'm trying to locate an elbow for it since the original one is bent out of shape.

Energ,

Is there not a metal tag on the front or the side with a model type stamped into it, like, "Vic III"?

If it's exactlyas pictured except for the back of the back bracket where the tonearm is mounted, it'd probaly a late victor III which would require a slip in elbow.

Some pictures would be very helpful making an accurate determination though.

From your description it sounds like it is probably a later style Victor II or III machine. Is this what you are describing? If this is the situation, a later style Vic II does not have corner columns on the wooden case, a Vic III would have the corner columns. Hope this helps.
