Warped Blue Amberola Records

Has anyone been successful in re-shaping Edison Blue Amberola records that are out of round? I know there is a reamer for the ones that are slightly out of round. I have a number of nice ones in the 5000 range that are out of round and the celluloid isn't cracked. Is it possible to remove some of the inner plaster and re-shape it?
Thanks, Ken Brekke

Ken,
Are you talking about the actual celluloid being misshapen? If that's out of round, I have never found a way to correct it... Maybe a hair dryer? If you flex it too much it will crack, so who knows? Usually, it's the plaster core that is out of round from swelling and that can be corrected with a reamer.

Yes, the celluloid and plaster are warped beyond what a reamer will remedy.

The reamer will smooth the inside of the cylinder to enable it to fit smoothly on the mandrel.
A reamer won't change the shape of the outer celluloid.
