I believe these were made by Herfeld & Comp based on the horn design and turntable felt color. That's just my best guess.

The small circular horn mouth is typically German, although some Thorens machines also featured it.
Worth having for the Chinoiserie finish alone, but don't expect great sound.

My thoughts exactly.
I tend to lean towards it being German though, simply because of the tonearm rest, a feature I don't recall ever seeing on a Thorens machine.

Is there a brand name or trademark on the motor that might help identify a maker?
Martin may very well be right about the company who made the machine.
Perhaps posting the machine on the German forum could confirm this, or offer suggestions of alternative manufacturers.
