Edison hand crank shaver

I have a cast iron hand crank Edison shaver missing the belts. Does anyone know what the diameter of the belts should be? The pullies look like they take a round belt.Looks like 1 wider belt and 2 thinner belts are needed. Were they made of leather? How are they spliced together?
Thanks, Bob

The originals were made of leather. The belting is available from suppliers for old treadle sewing machines. Measure across the valley in the pulley to get what diameter the belting should be. I have also used rubber O-rings for the belts.

You can search on Amazon.com for round leather belting.

Thanks, I was hoping someone knew the original diameters of the belts.

I went to the Singer sewing machine store to get parts for my portable electric, and they had the old-time leather belting on the wall there for sale, fresh stock. So you could go to a Singer store instead of Amazon, if you don't like Amazon.

McMaster-Carr sells round leather belt material in various diameters if I’m not mistaken. I’ve bought from them to fix old treadle sewing machines. I get same day shipping when delivered to my office, take a couple of days when delivered to my house in the same town - same shipping cost either way.
