And, how might one have to set aside for this lovely abode?

According to the real estate agent's site linked in the blog post, a piddling $7,880,000.

Not to mention the annual town taxes ($28K in the mid-'20s---imagine what they would be today!).

One error in the otherwise very thorough descriptive essay: the roofing is terra cotta tiles, not slate.

Sands Point real estate is among the highest-valued in the country, if not the world. I visited a customer of mine there once, who has an estate so incredible it would make Jasper Sanfillipo’s pale in comparison. I am very proud to say she displayed one of the music boxes I sold to her right in the entrance lobby of the main house. The others were consigned to her “home theater” which is incorporated into the adjacent historic lighthouse.

One of the side benefits of being in this business has been receiving opportunities to visit some very unique and interesting people and the homes that reflect their individuality, whether they be cabins or mansions.

I really enjoyed the story you told me about your trip to Alaska to repair some machines. You sure do have some adventures!

I totally read the title of this thread wrong, I thought it meant that his own personal Edison “Home” phonograph was for sale, not his actual home!
