I must admit the only reason I bought this record and then subsequently transferred it is the stunning label. I have a related label that I got somewhere in the past that we just the label not on a record. But, it is slightly different than the one in these videos. Anyway, they are men's chorus recording in German dedicated to soldiers and the red cross. I thought someone might find them interesting.
If anyone has more detail on these labels and why they exist on American made Columbia records during World War I with dedications to German and Austrian soldiers and Red Cross it would be nice to know. I realize the US didn't enter the war until 1917, but I can't imagine we were on the side of Germany when we later were allied with virtually everyone else.
