You're right--it's a wonderful performance of a striking number. Like nearly all the purple amberols, that would have been dubbed from diamond disc. The corresponding disc number is 82188-L, and, leaving aside that the cylinder is a "second generation" issue, it should be both easier to find and less expensive as a disc. The coupling, by the way, is "Traumerei" from Schumann's "Kinderscenen." In both instances, the piano accompanist is Andre Benoist.

I found a diamond disc version and got it for 8$ off eBay! However, I still really want the purple amberol for my Opera. It’s an incredible tune! I’ll check out traumerei too!

Diamond disc arrived - so great! What is it about listening to the original disc that’s so great? Hard to describe - but it is! Still looking for the purple amberol version! Thanks for looking!
