I'm cringing thinking about all the records that thing has eaten.

The $2,500 is nuts... but otherwise, it looks like it would probably work just fine... It's a better Frankenphone than an Indian fake or a Wuhan Wonder...

Agree completely. The gradual exponential-like taper of the tone chamber, combined with its length, should pump out a solid bass response. Of course, that's assuming the soundbox isn't a piece of crap with a torn diaphragm seated in rock hard gaskets connected to an immovable needle-bar.

Also, from what I see, the arrangement of the components--location of the tonearm, etc.--is awkward at best.

that horn is definitely from a musical instrument, you can tell by the silver plate there on the top. Its to protect the shape of the instrument when you put it down on the ground

They should have gone all way out and connected the motor to be treadle driven - either to wind or to play. I think the tonearm placement seems off as well. Over all it is more of a steampunk artwork piece. I always cringe if old pieces are repurposed, but this is kind of cool.
