Keep Fit to Music!

I was out this morning and went to my local thrift shop. They had these there and I couldn’t pass them up.

It has what seems to be all the original papers and all 6 records with directions! It even has the letter that Wallace sent to the person who bought them 8-)

This cost $15 for the set in 1942

How cool :ugeek:

LOL that's awesome--

You know these are actually old acoustic records, right? They were (if I remember right) made back in the 1920s first, and stayed in print for quite some time. I think they're pretty cool.

Used to have a 1940s set missing maybe one record? Anyway, it was thrown out when my father insisted I destroy almost my entire 78 collection when I was 16. Boy did I ever pay him back...I bought five or six times the amount of records. Still wish I had the 1920 12" Paul Whiteman pressings on Victor that also went to the landfill, among many other fascinating old records from the neighbors' attic.

Well, the $64 question is, David, are you going to "keep fit to music," or would the cringeworthiness destroy your posture?

The Internet Archive has some of these records. Wallace must have redone them, as they don't sound acoustic to me...

So sorry to hear your father made you get rid of most of your collection!

Well, then it is good to know they are electric. I went to see discographical info on these today and found out there is a version floating around from the 1920s, and then the 1940s one. I probably confused the two.

They are a peculiar find--I think the directions are funnier than the idea of watching people trying to work out in front of the living room record player!
