To buy or not to buy? Real or fake? Value? Hallllp me pleaseeee i have fallen down the Victrola rabbit hole......

It is indeed the real thing. I attached a picture of the one I have. They are old and pretty rare. A good find and a good metal sign. Mine came framed without glass and everyone I have ever seen has been framed. But, the frames are not the same. So, I suspect they came unframed and people framed them locally. But, I am not sure.

Where are you finding all this stuff? It must be from a collection being sold.

A Rare and very nice sign.. I've only seen a few- I have one in my collection and I saw one at the Eldridge Johnson Museum in Delaware. The frame on the one you've pictured matches mine and the museum's, so no reason to think it's not original. I have not seen any others with glass, so suspect that was someone's add-on.

It dates from about 1905 I believe. Value??? Whatever someone is willing to pay :) but I'd put it north of $1k

Woooooooooo.....great news. All from different places. Once i decided i needed to Spruce up my Victrola corner...i began the search. Im relentless! Lol

Im not a frame expert, but the frames look very close...no?

That price is about double what I would expect to see it go for. But, as always, it depends on who is buying and how many are interested.
