What makes this a Triumph crank...??? I thought that the Triumph crank was a solid cast threaded crank looking different from this... Were there Early and Late Triumph cranks??? To me, The crank pictured looks just like a regular Standard/Home crank...

Hey Tony,
Great questions.
The Triumph crank is dimensionally larger than a Home or Standard crank. The Triumph crank shaft is also a larger diameter, requiring a larger diameter hole and threads on the crank. If you look at the following picture, you'll see the Triumph crank (on the top) I am selling here, compared with a crank (on the bottom) appropriate for an Edison Home, Standard, or Fireside.
There are earlier Triumph cranks for the Model A that are cast, and not threaded. They are slip on like the early Homes and Standards. Later Edison's, mostly model B and beyond, used threaded cranks. There is also a variation of the Triumph crank as well as the one for the Home/ Standard/ Fireside that is cast, but nickle plated and threaded.
Hope that helps!
Be well
Shawn

The main difference between the Triumph Model A and other early cranks, is that the Triumph fits on a
square winding shaft, whereas the others have a pin and slot arrangement.
