This is really interesting. I haven't seen one of these or read anything about them for that matter. Does anyone know anything about them other than what is listed on CL? Has anyone ever seen one of these?

Several of these have turned up over the years- here's a bit of information from the Mechanical Music Digest:

The biggest problem is that Melville Clark players could be built to use one of a variety of roll formats, some of which are very hard to find. Interestingly the company had an arrangement to issue special rolls for the Apollophone which are synchronized to be played with specific Victor records. The pianos themselves were very high quality.

I saw one of these on the TV show "Cleaning House." I didn't realize there was a phono in the top until they got it outside for the garage sale. Very nice.
