For sale, a great item to add to your collection today!!
Here we have a super Herzog cylinder record cabinet. In 1899, John Herzog started a small cabinet company named the Herzog Art Furniture Co. to manufacture church furniture. Soon he transformed his company into a major manufacturer that provided a high-quality line of phonograph cabinets. This version, holding cylinders, is known as the No. 710. Collectors today call this a half-barrel cabinet.
It is a great piece, all original and good finish. it retains all of the original shelf struts, shelves, and cardboard tubes. A couple of the tubes are missing their tops, easily fixed. The shelves slide out easily, and the door swings as it should. Even the lock works with the included original key.
The only real detraction on this piece is that part of the back bun foot is missing. Again, this can be corrected with a woodworking lathe. The Herzog half-barrel cabinets are highly prized as they are very attractive, and a functional way to store lots of cylinder records.
Take a look at the pictures.
An outstanding opportunity to add to your collection.
The price is $700.00. This will not be shipped. It can be picked up in Michigan, or I can deliver it to the planned Stanton Auction in August with prior commitment.
