I came across this radio interview with Annette Hanshaw from 1972 where she looks back over her career. I found it quite interesting so am posting the links below:

Wonderful interview! She was a truly sweet person: a pity she sold herself short.

I'm an Annette fan with only a handful of her records to play. Thanks to You Tube I get to enjoy so much more of her work. I only wish I could have been aware of her in 1972 so I could write her a letter expressing my admiration of her work.

I read about how she did her first recordings for Pathé in July 1926 but had never heard them - however after checking on you tube amazingly I found that both of the test recordings are on there to listen to.

Excellent. Interesting that even on her first test recordings, she used her famous "That's all" sign-off. Also, at the end of the first recording, she seems to apologize for not being at her best, a notion that she carried with her even into the 1972 interview. With regard to her singing, she was like the pretty girl who did not know she was pretty, (which she definitely was!).

Here is a pretty unknown and early interview by her and Brian Rust https://youtu.be/LsfeLw6xHT8
It’s pretty difficult to understand for me as a foreigner, but OK with headphones I think
