How do I remove the motor spring cover for a Thorens motor?

Hi Everyone, Was hoping someone could help me with a query on this thorens Swiss motor spring. looks like the spring inside is broken but Im having a tough time removing the cover plate to get to the coil spring(pls see photos below). Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thx Chris

Hi Chris
I had a similar issue with a Pathè spring case and found that it was push fit. I opened it with flat blade screwdriver into the slot. May work on yours.

Perfect - just tried that and it finally popped out after a few attempts.
