Credenza vs VV 8-35 Tone-Arms--Any Major Differences?

Hello,

I am currently designing a homemade EMG-like phonograph based around an Orthophonic soundbox and tone-arm, but I have encountered a slight problem—Neither of the two Orthophonic tone-arms that I have will work; one is just from a portable, and the other has too large a diameter at the base.

I am thinking that a tone-arm from either a Credenza or an 8-35 would work best; can anyone tell me how the two compare? In particular, how does tracking alignment compare, and what are their internal diameters at the base?

Also, where would be a good place to look for tone-arms, and about how much should the specified tone-arms cost? I’m hoping to find one in good mechanical condition, but it needn’t be in good aesthetic condition; that way, it might not be too expensive, and the project wouldn’t use up a part that would work well for a restoration project.

Thank you!
