Honestly, you've made a fine recording. The position of the trumpet was ideal and it sounds well-balanced. I have made a lot of recordings on Paul's blanks and found them to work very well.
One can easily tell, that you have proper recording experience.

Two possible hints for improvments: When you shave the fresh blank shortly (a few days at best) before using, you'll get an extremely quiet surface. The governor seems to have a little flutter (very common on many Standard machines), I have seen easy fixes with fine wire wrapped around the springs. But again, this is going deep into detail.

thank you. I appreciate the comment. I hear the flutter you are describing. ... so its going back of forth against the governer plate?

just got a new dozen blanks from Paul today!!. the blanks I used were shaved the day before..... only by necessity
