Chaliapin in Tokyo

I bought this record some time ago, and it is interesting to see Chaliapin's autograph inscribed on the master, dated and located Tokyo 1936. Such autographs were relatively common on acoustic records in the 10s and 20s, but rare by 1936 (two years before his death). Apologies for the photo that is not very clear, it is hard to capture such imprints.

What is even more interesting is that Victor, to my knowledge, NEVER pressed signed matrices!
Very, very cool. Thanks for posting it.

Never say never! I'm looking at a copy of Victrola 95036 Adelina Patti singing "Si vous n'avez rien a me dire". The beginning and end of the signature, "Adelina Patti-Cederstrom" are clearly visible.
