Not sure what machine used this horn

I bought this horn at an auction yesterday. I thought it was for a Columbia Q, which I have. However, the horn does not slide over the end of the reproducer as both fittings are of the same diameter. There is a patent date: August 22 05.

Would appreciate knowing what this horn was for. Thanks.

Most commonly seen on an Edison Gem, but should also fit a Columbia Q. See if the end isn't just a bit distorted, causing a tight fit.

My original conjecture was wrong. I took a wooden dowel, inserted it into the narrow end, and rotated it while applying outward pressure. That did the job. After two years or so, my little Q finally has its horn.

Thanks, Jerry. The end needed to be rounded as you had thought.
