This dealer is local to me and is definitely uniformly overpriced, but presents things well. Always fun to look.

So have a look at this:

The website lists it as sold. What was the asking price?

Wow, probably one of the most beautiful phonographs I've ever seen! Anything arts/craft, prairie school, or Bauhaus is gold for me.

Did a quick search on the Lakeside Craft Shop, and it's an interesting little story. The guy set it up to "cash-in" on the popularity of that style. They seem to have produced several pieces of furniture following the same pattern as the phonograph.

The article mentions he supplied cabinets to Edison.

I also posted a picture of a catalog cover, very mouth watering!

I think the price was $4800 or something similar.

That cabinet is definitely attractive...
Using the pictures as a guide, if you have a trashed phonograph cabinet with complete works, you could easily make a duplicate of this cabinet to place them in. The straight lines of this style cabinet are attractive and more easily duplicated than a Victrola VV-XVII, for example. Someone should make a pattern and try to make a modern version.

Yeah. His showroom is here in town, and is only open on Saturdays. Lots of great stuff, all artfully restored or cleaned up and of course presented as museum quality etc etc. We know the drill. Not a square inch of patina, though.

The design is pretty simple and could readily be recreated, I’m sure.

I saw last night a Pathé, that looks like a crafts style on market place---have to go back and see what state it is in.
