Model H reproducer question

Post by VictorVV-X »

Hello all,

I got an Edison Standard D equipped with a rebuilt model H reproducer. To me it sounds a bit shrill on louder passages and when I looked a little closer at it I noticed that the screw that holds the stylus bar pivot seems to ride quite close to the diaphragm when the weight is close to the reproducer body. Should I move it down some, if that is possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

It would be better to observe the positioning while the needle is resting on a recording, in the normal play position. You can do that with the mandrel not rotating. The needle bar should be nearly tangent to the curved surface of the recording. Cheers, Russie

Startgroove,
Thank you for replying.
I have noticed that the stylus bar pivot rides quite close to the record while playing. Will the screw I mentioned help this?

Adjust the curve on the link wire until you get the desired bar tandem to record surface
