that pile is about 3,000 records or 1,500 lbs , I'm surprised no one recycles and refines it as it could be worth £4000 assuming it's half shellac

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-Blonde ... 2513864722

so I've got 100,000 in my lockup may be worth £120,000 recycled and refined :D anyone any ideas how to extract the shellac ? small cottage industry for us all :D

That looks like fun. Wonder how many are cracked in those stacks! If it were closer I would do it but it's a long haul from Oregon!

I can tell you, it's not all that great. I've only got 10,000 records stored away from my shelved records, and it bothers me everyday. Just the fact that I'm not seeing them, playing them, or appreciating them at all. Really kills me. I can't imagine having 100,000 records.

I am told by a friend who lives close by : "They are all junkers, and are the unsold remains from an even larger collection".

I once visited a collector (hoarder?) whose concrete sectional garage was crammed floor to roof with records.
The floor had subsided under the weight, and I could put my hand between it and the end wall.
