Does anyone know anything about these USSR X-Ray records?

"Ribs" were recordings made from discarded xray films, in order to smugle and sell foreign music in the soviet union. They have very poor sound quality and could only be played a few times, but they were very cheap and enough for people to become familiar with western music.

I'll also add that they are still being produced now, which is to say, faked. I personally wouldn't buy any of these as there's virtually no way to authenticate the "vintage" ones.

But then they have to be recorded one by one with a disc recording machine, kind of Rek-o-kut lathe...?
