Many 1920's HMV cabinet machines were little more than Victrola clones, but when they thought for themselves they produced some elegant designs such as the 511.

Just look at what abuse this poor old thing has suffered. It will be the 4-spring motor and gilt fittings that the bidders are after.

Indeed it is a horrible sight. This is one of the most harmonious cabinets that HMV produced, that looks particularly nice when fitted with the Lumière diaphragm.

It looks like it sat somewhere where it got wet or its legs got chewed off by termites or woodworms... too bad.

I would love to buy it for parts for an HMV I found in Connecticut a few weeks ago. But the seller was not interested in boxing up the parts.

Was really hoping to get parts off this machine if it was going to be parted out.
