Today I bought a cheap phonograph by a company called Kimberley. It isn't working, it looks like somebody used it for parts. I didn't spend very much on it though so I'm not surprised. Does anybody know anything about the company?

Welcome,

Kimberley Phonograph Supply Co., began making phonographs about July 1918, in New York. By 1919 the company had leased factory space in Perth-Amboy, New Jersey and later incorporated there, changing the company name to Kimberley Phonograph Co. of New Jersey.
They manufactured console and upright models, later production included some combination cabinets for radio/phonograph. The company went into receivership in 1925.

This is a slightly higher end off-brand, mostly due to the quality of the cabinet rather than the mechanics.
Are you planning to restore?
