I certainly didn’t need a new project. But I have been wanting an electric phonograph for awhile and when this popped up for $50 I just couldn’t pass. When I get it home, I will completely disassemble the whole thing. Its really dirty :?

For those who collect these machines: can you give any advice/tips? My father will be helping me as he is very good with old radios. But any extra help would be awesome.

Just one tip, which you probably already know--but just in case: don't plug the thing in and turn on the amplifier with a jolt of full strength house current. The conventional wisdom for old, long-disused tube amps is to bring them up slowly on a Variac.

I unplugged the radio and tried the motor. It still runs!

It’s gonna be quite a project

Hey Dave, Did you score ---that tube cover on the radiola is worth that plus it looks like you have a light cover for the phonograph too. Doesn't have to be said but the machine itself is great to have ---WOW

I think I found the correct schematic online. But I am not certain.

The good news: The machine is cleaning up really nicely.

The bad news: some mice had a happy home in here at one point. They chewed through some of the wires, and made a mess inside the cabinet. But, it should be fixable.

Here’s some pics!
