Edison standard with provenance!

I got this standard today... and was so excited to see that it has some provenance!
It’s a neat article. Although I’m not sure why original is spelled “origanal ” it definitely needs a lot of cleaning!

The story of Mrs. Lizzie Hauser's campaign of social betterment is absolutely amazing--one of those real bits of local color. I'm thoroughly impressed.
The phonograph will be more interesting to have this sort of provenance.

Maybe she was anal about keeping it original.

West Union is actually down by Cincinnati, just the Ohio side of the Ohio River. Akron is nearly 4 hours away, south of Cleveland. I lived in Cincinnati from 1971-3 and Akron from 1974-91 so I know a little bit about this.

She etched her address onto the bottom of the phonograph!

That cleaned up really nicely! Amazing. The provenance is wonderful, and adds enormous appeal. Lucky find.

That's pretty incredible David. Congratulations. Maybe a detailed article for a future issue of The Antique Phonograph is in order?
