Folks,
I am looking for an electronic reproducer to play Edison Blue Amberols. Is the ACT2 still available? Is that the one to get?
Any information on availability and which would be best would be appreciated. Thank you
Shawn

I've had an ACT reproducer for years and it works great. I use an original reproducer adapter so I can put it in a large carriage. Here is the link:

It says they are going to go to selling on Ebay in October 2020, but I don't know if that has happened. . There is contact information at the top of the page.

Shawn - I have an ACT2 and it works flawlessly. The only problem was that it took 5 or 6 months to receive (finally received in mid-2019). I thought the wait was quite excessive but glad I eventually received it.

Keep in mind that only the early and very late 4 Minute Blue Amberola records were directly recorded from the music studio. Many of the 4 Minute cylinders were dubbed from the Diamond Disc records so if you enjoy a particular song and you can find it as a Diamond Disc, the Disc will sound much better.
I have a 4 Minute Blue Amberola recording of "Mary Lou" by Duke Yellman that I really enjoy. I recently bought a Diamond Disc version of the same song and can hear the bells and other instruments much better now.
My 2 Minute and 4 Minute cylinder recordings used a modified Edison reproducer with a crystal element added for pickup which directly produced a signal.
If you use the ACT Reproducer you should record both channels from the Magnetic Cartridge as a Stereo signal and then convert to the vertical modulation component in software.
