Cylinder Record Dealer Tags Common?

Post by Energ15 »

I've seen a few dealer tags on my Edison record cases and was wondering if they are common or not. Most record cases don't have a dealer tag on them so, can someone inform me on this please?

Well they certainly do turn up. The dealer tags are a nice plus but I wouldn't really pay much extra to get a box with a dealer tag unless it has some personal significance, from you home town drugstore or something...

I've got quite a few dealer tags on boxes myself, and have always found them an interesting variation, but I've never paid any more than usual to obtain one, although I might spend a couple dollars more on one if it were highly decorative or had some personal significants.
What I have paid a little more for, and find more interesting and harder to find are dealer paste-over labels, although personally I still wouldn't pay anymore than maybe an extra $10 or $15 to get one.
