Does anyone have any idea how many 10-51s are surviving.

Since only 500 were ever produced, it's safe to say that a lot less survived. I have seen them in auctions and for sale in the Yankee Trader section so you might make a request there if you are looking for one. http://www.victor-victrola.com/10-51.htm

I bought one about 2 years and been working on it on and off. It is almost finished and was just curious how many were left.

A handful. I know a collector in Maryland who had a project going, but not sure if he ever got to completing it.

Have any pictures? I've heard the pot metal degradation on these can be really bad.

You might want to ask someone who is an expert on these models or any owners you can find.

As far as the VE 10-51 existing numbers rlb955 was inquiring about, I can say this... that Maryland one was horribly hacked in half horizontally about 10” down from the top and pretty beaten up. It had a Canadian ID with a 25 Hz amp, no orthophonic driver, but it’s holder and the big unique “S” pipe were present. I bought it and later sold its parts including its horn along with another beautiful original finish completely empty VE 10-51 cabinet with its ID plate, as a project to rlb955. I knew of one other up in New Hampshire. Other than other owners or friends of other owners speaking up here, an appraisal could be obtained for any particular VTMC model from Victor-Victrola.com that would include existing numbers known in their database.
