That is an amazingly rare machine, congratulations on getting it going! Shawn O'Rourke helped me with mine as well, he is as handy as a pocket on a shirt

, although mine is just the run of the mill single Manhattan.

The coin ramp and funnel make up a crude but surprisingly effective slug rejector. Any coin (or slug) that is not the correct weight will overshoot or fall short. Plus, there's a magnet under the end of the ramp to give just enough attraction to interrupt the travel of any steel slugs or washers. It's fun to watch but the designers didn't care about that -- they just wanted to ensure proper payment for each tune.
