In a different post I asked about a Columbia crank that came with a Model AT. I bought the machine at a local auction that also had an Edison, many cylinders--mostly 4 minute--and hundreds of 78s, mostly from the 40s and 50s. There was also beer flat with books, brochures, and a mailing envelope with packages of needles. Everything was like new and all dated form the late 70s and early 80s. I photographed a few items that might bring back some fond memories (I hope) of events 40 years ago. I have not photographed everything. Perhaps someone will know who sold the needles.

I have both the First Edison of Baumbach's Look for the Dog, Hazelcorn's APM Monograph on Columbia cylinder Graphophones, all issues of the Antique Phonograph Monthly (including the one pictured, I attended that Meadowlands show in 1982, and I used to buy needles from Dennis and Patti. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

Have a look at the photos. Surely this is a re-print. Whoever reprinted it did not bother to note that it was a reproduction.

The beer flat also had a few books and other paper goods. Even some photos of a Columbia cylinder player in mahogany. Shall I post more?

These are actually from before APSCO (in the current sense), when they had a regular retail store on a main street. They had dozens of phonographs and hundreds of records available at any given time. I bought my first cylinder machine there back in 1976 and spent many, many hours (and dollars) there. Dennis was always kind to me. They closed the store when the landlord tripled the rent, then moved to upstate NY and later started APSCO as we know it now (i.e., mostly parts and repairs, no machines or records).

The booklet "Edison and Music" does not look like a reprint from the images. It looks just like my original - but in a little better condition.
