The lady is asking $200. I think the rubber flange needs replaced on reproducer. I think someone didn't get the crank on the right way. Looks like a key for the phonograph in one of the pictures.

I'm going to look at the phonograph Sunday. What is a fair price? I think the XI is the most common Victrola?

Peronally. I'd consider $200 more than fair for an oak XI.
A new rubber flange is only $12.50, and really, you should replace that, along with the gaskets, as soon as you get a machine with an Exhibition anyway.

That looks like fumed Oak, and with the cabinet key that is a great deal at $200.
The crank is most likely detached from the motor and just needs to be screwed
back in. Of course you should verify this when you go check it out. This is always
a good thing to do to make sure the motor is still inside also.

A rear flange is only about $13 from George V and an easy fix, just two screws.

I just sold a mahogany XI for $400 but I am in California so prices are higher here.
If that one came up here I would be on it like white on rice. The wood looks
nice too, well cared for although its a little too light on the outside. Likely
some overzealous cleaning in the past.

$200.00 seems like a very good price on that machine. The flange is an easy and inexpensive repair and the Oak on that machine looks very nice and unusual. It was mentioned earlier that it might even be fumed, if it is that price is a real bargain. If I had the opportunity to pick it up, I would grab it. I do not believe you can go wrong and it appears to be a very appealing XI, definitely different than the Mahogany examples that are seen all the time.

I agree- you should pick this up. Aside from the possible fumed oak finish the grain pattern is very show.

Among upright Victrolas I'd say it's a tie between the X and the XI for being common.

The machine appears to be a nice solid example. I would have paypaled her a deposit and then paid the rest when I picked it up on Sunday. You cannot go wrong with oak.

Looks like all you need to locate is a nickel needle cup and an Exhibition flange. Today I received a dozen flanges from Ron Sitko and they were only about $6 each. Maybe there's a price break when you buy a dozen at a time. I think the $200 asking price is more than fair if the motor is OK. Jerry Blais

Is next Sunday the earliest you can get there? I would be sweating bullets waiting that out.

I have decided to pass on the Phonograph without looking at it. I have 6 upright phonographs and a couple of table models and not much room. I know it is a nice phonograph but if I ever decided to sell I wouldn't know who to sell it to.
