What Is This? Hohner Harmonicas

I saw this machine at an antique store recently and could not figure out what it was. The crank and turntable made me think some kind of phonograph, but there does not appear to be any provision for a tonearm, reproducer, speaker, etc. Perhaps a windup revolving display?

Yep- A display piece-- Pretty neat! I've seen a couple complete over the years, but mostly have just run across bases.

I've got something similar that I take to shows. It rotates very slowly and with a full wind runs for a couple of hours. I mounted a larger wooden disc maybe 16" diameter and place things on it that I wish to sell. It's a great eye catcher. I painted the disc flat black. I purchased wood letters at a hobby store and applied "Victor Talking Machine" around ⅔ of the edge. On the balance I added my name to indicate it was modified by me. In spite of that, I've had quite a lot on interest to sell it.

What a coincidence! I built one a while back too. I think it is still stored in the barn somewhere. It was made from a Victrola motor. Cheers, Russie

I hope you bought it... it should be worth about $8.00 without the harmonicas according to the ad...

Very interesting indeed.
Just to mention that I have a 78 record with the same name on the label.
I took a photo of it quite some time ago - before filing it away into oblivion !
