Contrary to the seller's description, the only HMV component on this machine is the soundbox.

I think it’s a nice item. Reading the description though I wouldn’t attempt to convince the family that it isn’t HMV and I wonder, if the price falls short of their expectations, the family will decide to keep it again.....

Perhaps there was a disappointed winning bidder on the first auction mentioned but this time the degraded condition may help the winning bidder actually buy it.

With a little cleaning and a servicing this Operaphone would sure display nicely in one of your stately English country homes. Besides the new owner will also receive two cranks, many needle packs and a needle sharpener. Well worth carrying it on and off of transit to get it home from Waterford.

Actually I really like this machine..... and it gets worse because it’s not in Waterford but in Watford which is right next door to me. Trouble is I just don’t have any room in my less than stately flat. I hope a forum member gets it.
